OK, here we are. I did a fresh `uscan --force-download` got a *third*
md5sum

$ md5sum dawg_1.2.orig.tar.gz
369a26a5c7a905acefb566cfcb4270b9  dawg_1.2.orig.tar.gz

and with this I did a fresh `gbp import-orig --pristine-tar`.  With this
Git repository I was able to build the package and uploaded. Please
make sure you pull all branches to ensure we are working on a repository
that works not only for two out of four members of the team (thanks for
Afif and Fabian for supporting me and Kevin respectively ;-)).

The whole thing is pretty mysterious and I hope this kind of things will
not happen in the future again.

Kind regards

      Andreas.
