[Debian-med-packaging] Bug#821075: ncbi-tools6: This copy of tbl2asn is more than a year old

Package: ncbi-tools6
Severity: normal

Hi,

when calling tbl2asn I get:

$ tbl2asn
[tbl2asn] This copy of tbl2asn is more than a year old. Please download the current version.

I agree that tbl2asn is correct here since the last upstream version is
dated from 2012 - but that's a confusing message for users.

Could you suggest either a more modern replacement of this tool and we
substitute the message by

[tbl2asn] This copy of tbl2asn is to old. Please use XYZ instead.

or just remove this warning in case tbl2asn is fine also these days.

If you let me know your prefered solution I'd volunteer to implement
it and upload the package.

Kind regards

       Andreas.
