I'd definitely avoid another trip to new since on one hand you probably
want the package back fast and also there is no point in puting extra
unneeded work on ftpmasters shoulders.

I can not speak for Emmanuel but I usually would welcome if people would
commit their changes to our team maintained repositories.  ACLs are set
to enable any DD commiting.
