Source: mpich
Version: 3.3~b3-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The mpich build fails on hppa due to a timeout in the testsuite:

libtool: link: gcc -g -O2 "-fdebug-prefix-map=/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>=." -Wformat -Werror=format-security -o test_primitives test_primitives.o  -L../src /<<PKGBUILDDIR>>/src/openpa/src/.libs/libopa.a -lpthread
make[5]: Leaving directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>/src/openpa/test'
make check-TESTS
make[5]: Entering directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>/src/openpa/test'
make[6]: Entering directory '/<<PKGBUILDDIR>>/src/openpa/test'
PASS: sanity
PASS: test_barriers
PASS: test_queue
E: Build killed with signal TERM after 150 minutes of inactivity
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build finished at 2018-11-04T05:51:50Z

Full log is here:
https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=mpich&arch=hppa&ver=3.3%7Eb3-4&stamp=1541310729&raw=0

If one waits long enough (roughly 230 minutes), test_primitives completes
successfully.

Would it be possible to output some progress information in test_primitives
to avoid the timeout?

Regards,
Dave Anglin
