It turns out that's not the problem. If /dev/shm is not writable for all
users, faketime doesn't work as non-root. I suspect that's the problem here.
Lucas, can you confirm that?

In that case, the issue is caused by the test environment and the bug can be
closed. The issues on buildds is probably the same. If the problem happens
again, we can check with the buildd admins.

It might make sense add a check in the beginning of the build to make sure
faketime works (and give a clear error when it doesn't) and to fail
explicitly in the configure when the xsltproc checks fail.

For reference:
The samba build runs xsltproc under faketime to make sure the date in the
manpages is the same everywhere (that's needed to have multiarch
coinstallability).

The release team decided to mark 750593 as jessie-ignore, because it doesn't
seem likely that this can be fixed without invasive changes, while there is a
workaround for the build failure in samba.
