Debian patches for speech-tools

Dear speech-tools creators,

Thanks for creating speech-tools.

Already for an extremely long time (since 2001) Debian is shipping
speech-tools in it's releases. Because you released version 2.5.0 I was
going over the Debian code and was unpleasantly surprised to see that we
have quite a few patches that we apply on top of your code, which I
suspect are bug fixes or improvements for you as well.

As I am very much not into the code itself, I was wondering what the
best way forward is. Would you be interested in looking into all the
patches that we apply and pick the ones you want? In what format? (I'll
point you to the current browse-able git archive below¹, but I could
also work on pull requests on Github if you prefer those).

Looking forward to hear from you.
Paul

(currently as applied on 2.4, in the order specified in the series
file). I can give you a much shorter version of hardening.diff.
