Moin Guru's,

I had a smaller sound problem on Sarge and I was running into a wall,
so it became a bigger one. It took one day to realise, that the system
had a former alsa installion, with unpurged files in /etc/modprobe.d/.

  My solution was :
    dpkg -P alsa-base
    dpkg -P alsa-utils
    dpkg -P alsa-oss
    update-modules
    depmod -a
    shutdown -r now

this gave me OSS sound. So please purge (or move to a place to purge)
the modprobe.d and modutils files on normal alsa deinstation, to offer
  OSS to work again.

Bye Michael
