Hi

I have debian testing after recent update and what I have found is that
recording stopped working. The sound plays anyway.

For example audacity after first run says:
PaHost_OpenStream: could not open /dev/dsp for O_RDWR
PaHost_OpenStream: ERROR - result = -10000
PaHost_OpenStream: could not open /dev/dsp for O_RDONLY
PaHost_OpenStream: ERROR - result = -10000

after a few tries audacity starts ok but when I try to record on the
console appears:
PortAudio: read interrupted!
....

and so on every few seconds. There is of course no recording.

That is not audacity only problem (which is not pure alsa app), for
example rezound also can't record with the following error.
warning: error returned by read() function -- Input/output error

I'v used kernel 2.6.15.1 recently with working recording. Know I have
tried 2.6.15.1 and 2.6.15.4. Besides updating I have also changed to ATI
radeon X drivers (previously it was xorg's).

I have tried to compile the kernel with gcc-4 and gcc-3.4.

So I'm stuck.
dpkg -l alsa* |grep ii

I hope somebody knows whats up?
