As said elsewhere already, and just so that this bug report has
current info: the default control port+socket tor config in Debian
lives in /usr/share/tor/tor-service-defaults-torrc, and doesn't use
a hashed password, so IMO that's orthogonal to the problem at hand.

What needs to be tested instead is onioncat with the default
configuration of the system-wide tor daemon.
