Right.

I was just looking into this and how specifying --with-dir-user (etc.)
would help us.

Turns out: It does absolutely nothing for us.

I was under the impression it presets the user in the daemons but the
only thing it does is a) gets used during install for some chown calls
and b) getting replaced in the init script and systemd units.

All this is useless for out build process because we use our own init
scripts and systemd units and the directories are set to the correct
user during postinst.

So, setting this wouldn't have helped to prevent the problem with the
init scripts at all.

(Upside is, I only spend 30 minutes in figuring this out.)
