| Hi Dirk,
|
| Thanks for your kind invitation. However, I don't actually know anything
| about bioconductor. I'm actually just trying to install it for a friend.
I don't know the difference between a gene and a pair of jeans, so we're at
par there...
| However, if you have any light tasks that need doing, I'd be happy to
| help, though I don't have too much time to spend on this. Eg. beta
| testing, manually adding dependencies to packages when your scripts don't
| work, etc. I see your scripts use perl. Unfortunately, I don't use perl,
| so can't be of much help there.
Testing would help -- just giving the script a run.
| Can I ask about your plans for the Debian Bioconductor packages? I
| assume they are too large to put in the main archive, so are you planning
| to maintain them on an auxiliary mirror?
Our plan is to deal with CRAN and BioC using one script and
infrastructure. It really is just a question of people making time for it.
| BTW, my research group is looking for a sys admin/software development
| person. If you know of any competent person who might be interested,
| please let me know.
Make sure you hire a Perl person and tell her to work on our
cran/bioc-debifier :)
Best, Dirk
