It's hard. I act as maintainer for one of the CRAN 'task views' and I can
assure you that it easy to fall behind [ but coincidentally, that is why I
like us to 'grow' our metadata in sqlite over time so that I could do a sql
queries for new package since a given date ]

There is a lot to do here, but it's you is in the grant-writing business not
me :)  Just kidding.
