While it is probably true that we should not _expect_ libsasl2 to be
included in etch, it should probably still _tried_ to achieve that. And
the redepends on libsasl2 isn't as bad as I would have expected. Here is
the list of source packages which build binaries depending on libsasl2:

asterisk
asterisk-oh323
beepcore-c
cyrus-imapd-2.2
cyrus-sasl2
cyrus-sasl2-mit
cyrus21-imapd
dovecot
etpan-ng
exim4
gnugk
hotway
kdebase
kdepim
kolab-cyrus-imapd
libauthen-sasl-cyrus-perl
libetpan
mail-notification
mutt
nmh
nufw
ohphone
opal
openam
openh323
openldap2
openldap2.2
openldap2.3
openmcu
postfix
pstngw
pwlib
python-ldap
sendmail
sylpheed-claws-gtk2
sylpheed-claws-gtk2-etpan-privacy
t38modem

A total of 37 source packages, so I would say that this is managable if
the new cyrus-sasl2 upstream version doesn't have too many API/ABI changes.

Regards,
Sven
