I am going through the bugs against cyrus-sasl2 and trying to resolve as
many as possible.

Is there any chance you can provide the offending /etc/sasldb2 file?  If
that is not possible, can you fabricate a minimal /etc/sasldb2 that can
be used to reproduce the problem?
