It sounds good. I will be about again next Weds probably, and can put a
little effort into investigating the problems.

I'm sure we can come to a solution which presents a good UI experience
without compromising on the menu categorisation. I did wonder about
teaching Lintian to recognise our new un-official root menus, and
looking for extra-xdg-menus to silence the warning on those categories.

Another gEDA colleague is going to push for an "Engineering" root menu
with the XDG spec people and we might eventually decide to push
Electronics as a sub-menu under that.
