hi,

i'm seeing this too.  the game goes for like 30 seconds, and then seems
to freeze up, forcing me to kill/restart X.  i notice that the other
reporter was also using amd64 with a 2-core system, as am i.  and fwiw
i'm using scary-evil-proprietary nvidia drivers in case that's relevant.
