I installed megaglest which pulled in famfamfam-flag-png, fonts-uralic,
libftgl2, libircclient1, libminiupnpc10, libxerces-c3.1, and
megaglest-data without incident.

After launching megaglest from the Games menu, the screen blacked,
then after several seconds became a pattern of tiles about 10x50px
each, and they were paired with the right side being a mirror of the
left side in each instance; mostly grey with some deep blue.

After a matter of minutes, startx ended, and the log showed a
segfault had occurred. There were two of the nouveau messages
concerning X, then there were four for chromium that were issued
after X had perished.

I noticed VC painting was quite slow while this was going on (as
it had for the lincity instance) but it reverted to normal speed
after X was gone.

I restarted startx and the initial screen game up tiled as it had
after launching megaglest. Ctl-Alt-BS appeared to be a no-op.
After pressing Ctl-Alt_F2, it was ten seconds before the VC
manifested on the screen and painting was slow. An Alt-F1 took
ten seconds to produce a black screen with an X pointer, then
startx terminated again (another segfault).

I'll try a reboot after I mail this account.
