Bug#230776: gdesklets: unlocalized output (copyright sign)

Upon startup, gdesklets writes a copyright notice to the screen that
contains 0xa9. This is supposedly the copyright sign, but in my UTF-8
locale this is an illegal character (it should be 0xc2 0xa9).
