user.mime is empty and user.keys just contains an entry for
x-directory/normal. It's a quite new installation and I haven't
really used GNOME on it so far (and I won't use it as my main desktop
until sound is supported on G5s :-/ ).
It looks like /desktop/gnome/applications/browser/exec doesn't get
updated properly and if I change it manually with gconftool or
gconf-editor, the changes seem to take no effect.

BTW, I've noticed another, maybe related, issue:

,----
| $ gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command
| galeon %s
| $ gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/https/command
| epiphany %s
`----

Ie. the handler for http URLs has been changed to "galeon %s" by
gnome-default-applications-properties like expected but the handler
for https URLs still is "epiphany %s" =3D> https URLs get loaded in the
wrong brower.
