Ehm... I thinks it's strange I can't find any other report of this. In
case there *was* a report already: apologies.

For quite some time now, every once in a while I fire up Rhythmbox when
I once more read great things about it. I've never managed to get it up
and running, however.

Basically, it just crashes when I try to import music folders. The
console output seems to show there's a problem with character sets, but
I'm not that much of a programmer, so I basically don't have a clue.

To be short:

* I fire up Rhythmbox.
* I point it to my music directory.
* I watch how it crashes.

Console output goes like this:

INFO (21428: 0) Initializing GStreamer Core Library version 0.6.4
INFO (21428: 0) CPU features: (00000000) MMX SSE
INFO (21428: 0) registry: loaded global_registry in 0.217617 seconds
          (/var/lib/gstreamer/0.6/registry.xml)

(rhythmdb_entry_set): assertion failed: (g_utf8_validate
(g_value_get_string (value), -1, NULL))
aborting...

Once again: I can't imagine this hasn't been reported yet; consider this
report to be just a confirmation if it has. I also reported it using
bug-buddy.

Greets,
Tom

This bug is probably fixed with new versions of rhythmbox/gstreamer, no
news in almost 2 months, no reply to the previous comment, I'm closing
this bug. Feel free to reopen it with details if it happens again.

Cheers,
