Package: gdm
Version: 2.4.4.7-3
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/gdm

Hello,

the binary gdm is located in /usr/bin . If I run it as normal user, it
tells me, that only root wants to do this.

This matches the definition of binarys, which should be located in
/usr/sbin (see FHS, 4.6).

The same holds for gdmsetup .

I am not sure if gdmgreeter, gdmlogin and gdmchooser have any use, if
they are not called through gdm. If they have not, they should maybe go
to an other location (such as /usr/lib/gdm) else to /usr/sbin, too.

Regards,
Uwe

PS: just now I realised, that 2.4.4.7-3 is not current anymore, but the
list of files of version 2.6.0.3-1 shows, that this version has these
binarys in /usr/bin, too.
