Version: 2.4.0.1-4
Severity: normal
File: gconfd

Hi,

after upgrading this is what I get. This is perhaps related to libxml2
upgrade?

>There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
>
>Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work
>correctly.
>
>The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.
>
>The last error message was:
>
>Failed to activate 'OAFIID:GNOME_SettingsDaemon'
>
>GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log
>in.

And the syslog reports:

>Mar 11 00:22:09 luca gconfd (luca-2244): starting (version 2.4.0.1), pid
>2244 us er 'luca'
>Mar 11 00:22:09 luca gconfd (luca-2244): Resolved address
>"xml:readonly:/etc/gco nf/gconf.xml.mandatory" to a read-only config
>source at position 0
>Mar 11 00:22:09 luca gconfd (luca-2244): Resolved address
>"xml:readwrite:/home/l uca/.gconf" to a writable config source at

>"xml:readonly:/etc/gco nf/gconf.xml.defaults" to a read-only config

thanks
