Does gnomevfs-ls sftp://<yourhost> reveal anything usefull ?

$ cat /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/default-modules.conf| grep sftp
sftp: sftp
ssh: sftp

Both ssh:// and sftp:// are handled by the sftp module these days..
