There was a segfault in the scrollkeeper-update which gnome-panel-data
calls, this is simply a bug in scrollkeeper-update or more likely a
library that it uses.
There were tons of crashes in scrollkeeper-update which were really
libxml2's fault.

So the bug is fixed in later versions: there's nothing more we can do,
as the stable release of Debian is deeply frozen and we only fix *very*
important bugs.
Would you have upgraded your whole distribution, this wouldn't have
happened, so I think it is not a very important bug since only special
configurations are concerned by this bug.
I'm reassigning this bug to scrollkeeper and closing it.
