It’s great to see someone else interested in s-c-p, but you shouldn’t
waste your time with such an update, unless you want to upload it to
experimental. Even minor updates of system-config-printer are almost
unusable on non-English systems because of unsuitable fuzzy strings, and
1.0.x makes no exception. 

If you want to help for the lenny release, it would be much more useful
if you could extract the patches between both versions that actually fix
crashes (especially the crashes that have been reported to Debian).
