Another crash, but a different cause.
This time the crash happened while in the

Edit -> Profile ... menu

(not the Edit -> Current Profile ... -> Colors -> Choose Colors ? menu
                 ^^^^^^^
as has been the case earlier)

In the "Profile ..." window there is a place where one can select
which profile is the default choice of profile for a new instance of a
g-t window. At the instant that I clicked on a new choice of default
profile, gnome-terminal crashed.

When I restarted gnome-terminal, my new choice of profile was
selected. That is to say, the desired change "took", but *then* g-t
crashed.

Also, I have noticed, but not reported before, when the crash is
caused by changing a color selection, the new color is there when I
restart.

So, the bad place in the code is somewhere *after* recording
the new selection in the on-disk state information of gnome-terminal.

I would think that not much more needs to be done after that, except
the return to waiting for the next interrupt. But --- I don't speak
with any authority. How can a return from interrupt become bollixed?
And only if there has actually been a change to record?
