another option is to include:
uid="1000-100000"
in every <volume>

we use:
<volume
user="*"
uid="1000-100000"
server="blah"
path="path"
mountpoint="~/Path"
fstype="cifs"
options="file_mode=0750,dir_mode=0750"
>

and it does work around the problem.
