I'm having similar issues with 3.4.2-2, at least with certain extensions
(gTile being one, I forgot which was the other, as I found an
alternative that works since then).

I see no error message neither in ~/.xsession-errors, nor in lg, and the
extension itself does not appear to be downloaded to
~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions either.

A couple of other extensions do work, though. Not sure if it's related,
but the symptoms appear similarish.
