gnome classic in testing totaly unusable after 2 configuration steps

I would like to use gnome classic, and have a wide screen.

so I had put the top panel to the right side, and the bottom panel to the 
left side of the screen. after this the gnome crashes if I start almost 
any program.

the only solution I got is to delete the whole user!

I tested this 3 or 4 times, and it happens always the same way.

the testing dvd was downloaded at the end of January, and I have a Lenovo 
X200s laptop.
