Package: gnome-panel
Version: 3.4.2.1-4
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/bin/gnome-desktop-item-edit

Dear Maintainer,

it took me 10min just to figure out via the www how to create a desktop-
launcher. ( Debian 7 + gnome )
In order to keep things easy for me, I created a desktop-launcher which can
create desktop-launchers.
"gnome-desktop-item-edit --create-new /home/myUser/Desktop"

I think this functionallity is used real often. But in the current gnome, it is
real difficult to make use of it ( I was forced to use the console) We could
make Debian more user-friendly by providing the option "add laucher" when doing
a right-click on the desktop.

Or maybe in Debian 8 this is already foreseen?
