Please don't raise the severity of bugs if the maintainer explicitly set
it this way.

Fact is, that Debian only supports upgrades from one release to another.
If you are using a dpkg version from pre-wheezy, you're on your own.
We can be nice and add an explicit versioned dependency, but mixing
versions like this is a/ not supported b/ not a good idea.
