Dear Maintainer,
With Gnome, by default, for a 2 buttons mouse (Logitech USB Trackball), there is
no emulation of the middle button.
For XFCE or KDE, by default, there is the emulation of the middle button.
Without the middle button, it's impossible to copy/paste using the two buttons.
With the previous version of Debian : Squeeze, there is the emulation of the
middle
button.
Using "xinput test <device ID>", there is only the buttons 1 and 3 detected, not
the 2sc: the middle button.
In a terminal, I can use the following script to enable the middle button:

I've tried to activate the emulation of the middle button at the startup of
Gnome
without success.
I've put the script's code in various files:
~/.profile
~/.login;
~/.xsesionrc.
And created the files:
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/98x11-local_setup
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/100x11-local_setup
With "gdm", after the login, the files are executed in the following order :
/home/localuser/.profile
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/100x11-local_setup
/home/localuser/.xsessionrc
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/98x11-local_setup
/home/localuser/.login
But the middle button can't be emulate.
Could you find a solution at this problem ?
