Bug#701216: gnome-shell: WindowManager breaks with intel_do_flush_locked failed: No space on device (Intel 945GM)

Hello,

currently I have 3.8.4-8 installed (together with all updates of the
testing repoitories). Two monitors are working simultaniously now, but
CPU-Usage of the gnome-shell-process ist 50% (on a dual-core, meaning
100% of one CPU-core). Hence, the desktop feels incredibly slow. I.e. if
you write commands in gnome-terminal you see the typed letters a few
seconds later. However, I did not recognize any crash, independent of
starting windows, moving them around, view the activity screen etc.
With only one screen gnome-system-monitor normally states 2-3 percent
for gnome-shell. In both cases, approx. 350 MB out of 1,5 GB memory is
used.

Before installing 3.8.4-8 I tested version 3.8.4-5+b1, there with this
version it did not worked with the following symptoms (different from
the symptoms I described in the initial bug report):
- With only one monitor (1280x1024 resolution) activated gnome-shell
works normally (however, sometimes there are fancy artifacts like in the
attachment on the screen while using activity-zoom but I think this is
not really related to the problem discussed here).
- With this monitor plus the internal Monitor (1024x768 resolution)
activated Fallback-mode works.
- With both monitors activated gnome-shell starts in a new session and
shows desktop on both screens (with background and panel and symbols).
However, if I start any program (i tried nautilus and gnome-terminal)
gnome-shell breaks with segmentation fault. Unfortunately it does not
print any additional hints on the terminal window.

If you need further information please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards,
Henning
