Currently, it is possible to use GNOME on Wayland.

When logged in, looking at the process list, we have:

Which is what led me to check details on gdm3 wayland support status. From what I've understood so far, gdm has default wayland support in 3.16, with a fallback to Xorg incase it fails.

It'd be really awesome to have gdm 3.16 in the archive with wayland support (perhaps have Xorg as the default and let wayland users enable it), so that interested users can play around and provide feedback.
