I can confirm this behavior, however I believe it's not gdm bug. It 
happened to me when upgrading linux-image from 3.16.7-ckt9-3~deb8u1 to 
3.16.7-ckt11-1. Downgrading back to ckt9 is a workaround. Suspected is 
video subsystem and/or nouveau
