When running under GNOME, xdg-open simply calls gvfs-open to open the
file. gvfs-open, in turn, reads the desktop file for Totem
(/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Totem.desktop) which specifies that
the command to be run is "totem %U".
So, if you want this changed, the change should be done in the totem
package. Reassigning.
