I guess this is a clue:

[    1.149807] fb: conflicting fb hw usage inteldrmfb vs EFI VGA - removing generic driver

I'm having the same problem with the version in experimental, so I tried
the suggestions in #565160:

        - Booting with linux16 and initrd16 works fine and gives me a
        usable console.
        
        - Booting with gfxpayload=text instead of "keep" also works
        fine.
