Dear fellow maintainers,
it was brought to my attention a fews days ago that there's a problem in
Fedora with the Serbian translation of iso-codes[1]. Apparently, the
Serbian language is using synchronic digraphia[2]. From wikipedia:
"The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet and an adapted Latin alphabet are both
widely used in Serbia in a large variety of contexts and most Serbian
speakers are able to read and write in both."
The solution would be to provide a cyrillic and a latin variant of the
translation. If we think of the cyrillic variant as the "master file",
the latin variant could simply be generated with the command:
recode-sr-latin < sr.po > sr at latin.po
Should we always just convert the current sr.po (in cyrillic) to latin
script before releasing a new tarball? Am I missing something? Opinions?
Regards,
Tobias
