Hi,

sometimes

   /etc/init.d/tomcat5.5 stop

doesn't kill jsvc.  A manual killall jsvc is not enough, you need to
use killall -9 jsvc.

Changing the /etc/init.d/tomcat5.5 script should be done with caution
because of the `set -e' at the top of the file.
