Starting jed (or xjed) 0.99.16 with jed-common_0.99.18 fails (re-definition
of xform_region() in site.sl. 

xform_region() intrinsic in 99.16, library function in 99.18)

Generally, the run-time files (jed-common) in an upstream release are
adapted to the executable (jed|xjed) and not assured to work with other
versions (more likely something will fail).
  Can we take care of this generically with (<< ${Source-Version}) (my
preference) or should we test for conformity/errors with every new version.
