Please note that the bug report says "dpkg-buildpackage -A fails in testing".

Well, at least in principle, I'm testing right not without "-A".

Neither [1] or [2] are meaningful at all for this, because:

* The official autobuilder [1] uses an unstable chroot, not testing.
* The reproducible builders [2] perform a full build, not "dpkg-buildpackage -A".

If somebody reports that "ls -l" segfault, would you tell the
submitter that "ls --color" or "ls" alone work ok?

Surely not!
