Are you sure you have it in gnome-terminal this way? What 4 combinations
are you talking about??? What happens if you do

$ cat

and then press F10?

Does Esc + 0 work as F10 in mc?

  I tried to switch on/off both of the keyboard shortcut settings in
  gnome-terminal, but none of the 4 variations let me use the F10 for
  quitting mcedit or mc.
