[Pkg-mc-devel] MC eats my keyboard :-(

Hi,

before I try to report my suspicion as a bug report I would like to
discuss this here on the list because I really can not believe what
happens.

It occured to me now two times yesterday and two times today that my
keyboard became unusable like a pure brick. No key worked any more not
even things like NumLock. At first I suspected a broken keyboard but
this was OK. Mouse worked perfectly also network connection.

I now realised that *all* these occurences happened when marking a block
inside internal mc editor for cut-n-pasting using <Shift>-Mouse (so not
the internal editor block but usual X cut-n-paste).

When my suspicion about a guilty mc arised I did a "killall mc" over an
ssh connection but the keyboard did not come back. The "mildest" way to
recover the keyboard (as alternative to a complete reboot) was to
`/etc/init.d/gdm3 restart`. After this everything went back to normal.

Now the question is: Is it reasonable to declare mc guilty for this
problem or is there some other possibly cause. As I said all four
occurences were when working in mc ... but considering my heavy usage of
it the statistical chances are quite high for this. The effect is
really not reproducible - so I can usually work nicely and the breakage
happens just randomly.

Any idea?

Kind regards

    Andreas.
