As far as I am concerned, I don't care about AMR codecs at all. 
However, I think solution (a) would be ideal until solution (b) has 
become release-quality. I don't think we should choose solution (c), 
because once code quality has matured enough, upstream will include it 
anyway -- we shouldn't try to anticipate upstreams decision about 
inclusion of the code. Solution (d) is of course unacceptable for 
distributions, but may be fine for d-m.o.
