next steps with ffmpeg and mplayer

Oh, you're right, I was under the impression that ubuntu would follow
debian. It however you are right, according to debian/changelog, the
ubuntu mplayer package was created by Sebastian 'slomo' Droege, who
happens to be a member of pkg-multimedia as well.

I think we (slomo and I with ubuntu developer hats on) should follow the
debian package after it has been updated in unstable. So for no, you're
right, there is probably little point in checking the ubuntu bugs right
now.

Btw, this issue makes me think about the version number of the debian
package. Is the version number I've choosen (1.0~svn20090303-1) useful?
Perhaps it should rather be (1.0~rc2+svn200930303-1) instead?
