Those information would normally have lead me to close the bug in 2
seconds without thinking more (and also blaming you for not reading the
messages of reportbug about non official libraries)

However, the problem seems slightly different. But still to debug it
properly, remove all trace of debian-multimedia.org and provide again
vlc -vvv --list.

It looks like a possible problem in libva-x11 (removing symbols without
increasing SONAME)
