Package: transcode
Version: 3:1.1.7-3
Severity: important

transcode seems to crash whenever I try to rip a DVD here. Here is an
extract from what happens with a DVD that has no bad sectors:

That DVD was made in 2004 to store personal videos. I do not know which
software was used. I also tried with a commercial DVD-ROM (2009) and had
the same result. I'm attaching a script of my attempt to rip the
commercial DVD.

Several hits show this problem is not new, and presumably an upstream
problem:
http://www.mail-archive.com/transcode-users@exit1.org/msg01673.html
http://us.generation-nt.com/answer/problem-k3b-help-208070751.html
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/26208

I have not tried with other ffmpeg versions.

This seems to make it impossible to rip a DVD using K3b.
