Bug#769057: xbmc: using VDPAU, segfault when going full screen while playing certain videos

Dear Maintainer,

    * What led up to the situation?
XBMC is in a window, playing certain videos: xvid, or decoded bluray 
copied to hard drive. VDPAU hardware decoding is enabled.
    * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
      ineffective)?
going full screen by pressing the \ key
    * What was the outcome of this action?
segfault. See attached crash logs.
    * What outcome did you expect instead?
no segfault

In other types of video files, what I observe is a black screen instead 
of continued video playback, lasting a few seconds, then XBMC kind of 
fast-forwards through the last few seconds of missed video until it 
catches up.

All is fine when hardware decoding is disabled.
