slapd and libldap-2.4-2 have to be installed at exactly the same 
version, yes. Without seeing your entire configuration I can't say why 
apt would be trying to install one from backports but not the other; 
'apt-cache policy libldap-2.4-2 slapd' may have some clues. In its 
default setup, apt is not supposed to offer backports unless you 
specifically request them; and indeed, in my wheezy chroot with 
wheezy-backports added, 'apt-get install slapd' pulls the wheezy, not 
wheezy-backports, versions of both slapd and libldap-2.4-2.
