Tasks for OpenLDAP in Debian

About OpenSSL and the GPL, here's the FTP masters' discussion:
http://meetbot.debian.net/debian-ftp/2020/debian-ftp.2020-03-13-20.02.html

Here the issue as it applies to the Debian archive was closed by a DD:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=924937#105

but that pertains to the GPL, not any other license clash that might've
occurred, and I see OpenLDAP has some more niche licenses to its components as
well. Since it's tangentially related and I'd like to get acquainted with the
sources, I think in the next few weeks I'd like to work on writing a DEP-5
copyright file.

Trying to learn the OpenLDAP API, I was also troubled that the man pages were
fairly out of date, and that they recommend to consult the header files and
sources instead. The man pages in 2.5 have had some work, but it would be
lovely if I could help those out upstream at the same time 😀

What made me decide to reach out in the first place was my wanting to use the
OpenLDAP 2.5 API, libLDIF, and thread-safety by default, so I'm glad to hear
that there's few other concerns in the interim (except for slapd of course,
which I'll try to learn and fortunately documentation seems much better for).
